Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to) Depending on position may: Performs plumbing work in the construction, fabrication, install or service of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures Locate and mark, when required, position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors Performs extensive troubleshooting and diagnosing when required Drain cleaning, jetting, and camera inspections of fixtures and drain lines (services) Measures, cuts, threads, and installs piping and tubing Assemble and install valves, pipefittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic (construction) Join pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints; fills pipe system with water or air, and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking Fixture repair and replacement when required Hand-digging as required Obtains needed supplies and equipment to complete assigned tasks Transport equipment and tools to job sites as needed Maintain good customer relations and provide excellent customer service Maintain internal and external customer satisfaction by promptly responding to requests and communications Respond to after-hour emergencies as requested (services) Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Must be able to handle stress and job demands Must be able to cooperatively work with others Other duties as assigned Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous plumbing experience and/or training required Plumbing license preferred when required by state or locality Valid driver's license with a good driving record (services) Ability to ascend/descend ladders without aversion to heights Backflow certification a plus Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform thorough inspections of plumbing systems Skilled in the diagnosis and repair of all types of plumbing leaks Skilled in the install or service of all types of plumbing fixtures Ability to locate lines and operate drain camera, drain cleaning, and drain jetting equipment (services) Ability to install or service all types of water heaters (tankless a plus) (services) Basic blueprint reading Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The physical activities described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individuals may be exposed to cramped workspaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day. Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently. The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places, and/or hazardous equipment. May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
